This classic 3 bedroom log cabin offers a pool table and newly remodeled kitchen (2018). Only 3 1/2 miles from the main parkway. This property is not pet friendly and is a smoke free property.

Our cabin Home Sweer Home had all the amenities for city folks like my family with the experience of enjoying nature. Customer Service was great when we needed it. Please try to persuade the owners of the cabin to invest in some new trash cans so the bears won’t scavenged through the trash. We will be coming back to the Smokies and using you again.

I like most everything about the cabin. I felt like there should be a little better measure in dealing with protecting the trash outside. We had 2 visits from bears on the porch destroying the trashcans. Also, it would have helped to have a table and chairs to eat meals at. Our location at Home Sweet Home only had the bar in the kitchen. The parking for 2 cars was also a bit tricky, but we figured it all out, and enjoyed our stay on the whole.

The cabin was fantastic with amazing views. My mother, sister and brother-in-law along with my wife and I all said how beautiful it was there. Online and app reservation was very handy especially with the updates and e-mails. Everyone was nice when we stopped at the office to get the information the day we arrived. Cabin rented needed brighter lighting. Garbage cans needed to be in enclosure to reduce animal access. Did enjoy recent updates to the kitchen. Hot tub was in a dangerous location on the back deck.

The cabin was great and perfect for our family of eight. I think my family would have lived there if they could. We did not have bear secured trash cans like some of our neighbors so I would recommend that addition. Other than that, it was a great place to stay for our family vacation.

Making reservations was easy, checking in was easy, checking out was super easy. Not real crazy about your office location. Everything was great at the cabin except the water, it was very dirty. The cold water would sometimes clear up a bit, but the hot water never did. If my family and I had been staying longer something would have had to been done.

The stay in Home Sweet Home was great! We do think a few upgrades are needed. Simple things like a handrail in the ground floor shower. The bathtub was quite slippery. The garbage cans were constantly pulled off the porch by varments, presumably bears because they were full and they were on the other side of the cabin when we returned home. So it had to be something strong. Haha! Glad we didnt run into them. We did love the cabin and our stay was awesome. The younger folks would have liked wi-fi but it was okay with the older folks. Thanks for a great stay!

Cabin was clean. Well stocked with pots and pans. Towels were fine. Just as described. I only wish we would have known about the beds having sheets. We, also, could not use hot tub as it was set too high. We could not find the temperature setting.

Our cabin was country and cozy, just what we were looking for. It's a little complicated to get to, but we did like the fact that it wasn't part of a "subdivision" of cabins with look-alike cabins one right after another. It was also nice to have a bedroom on each level with its own bathroom. We had 3 couples so we felt like we all had enough privacy. It would have been perfect if Wi-Fi had been available, but overall it was a really good unit.

Everything was clean, service was good, and check in and check out was convenient.. Only complaint is that the cabin had no dead bolt or locks on door other than door knob and small chain on front door. The back door had been kicked in and repaired at some point and the door barely latched. Either could have been opened in seconds with a credit card.. Dead bolts would likely make renters feel a bit more safe. Overall though, our experience was great.

-How is the drive to this cabin?

The drive to this cabin is steep and winding in areas. No 4 wheel drive necessary except during winter weather.

 

-How close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is this cabin?

This cabin is less than 5 miles from the parkway of Pigeon Forge and 7 miles from the parkway of Gatlinburg.

 

-How many vehicles will fit in the driveway?

2, maybe 3 vehicles will fit in this driveway.

 

-Do I need to bring extra toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, soap, etc?

YES… We provide 1 roll of toilet paper per restroom, one trash bag per trash can, 1 roll of paper towels in the kitchen, 1 small bar of soap per sink. You are responsible for bringing your own extras. We also provide 4 towels and 2 wash clothes per F/Q/K bed, 2 towels and 1 wash cloth per twin bed, and 1 kitchen set (1 hand towel, 1 washcloth, starter kit of dish detergent).  We do not provide shampoo, conditioner, lotions, laundry detergent, coffee or coffee filters, salt and pepper, charcoal for grills, daily maid service or flashlights/candles/matches (too often these items were taken home by guests so we stopped providing them).

 

-Is this cabin dog friendly?

NO… And we charge $250 when evidence of dog/animal is found inside unit.

 

-Is there another cabin nearby, in case more family wants to join? 

Yes, please check out Country Charm.

 

-Will I encounter wildlife?

Possibly. Black bears are attracted to food and are very curious and destructive, so DO NOT leave food in your vehicles or unaccompanied food on decks and porches and grills. If your cabin does not have a bear proof trash can, please call us for trash pick up.

And remember, you are surrounded by flourishing nature and a national wildlife reserve, so it’s not unusual for bugs to get into your cabin. We do a very good job of spotting and cleaning bugs before your arrival, but we cannot guarantee they won’t return, just as you can’t prevent 100% of bugs from entering your own home. Please be respectful of the fact that we don’t have total control over nature.

 

-Will the hot tub be clean for my arrival?

Absolutely. In fact the water may still need time to heat up on the day of your arrival. Just keep the cover on the hot tub and turn on the jets, as this will heat the hot tub quicker. To keep your hot tub clean for the length of your stay, keep the cover on the hot tub when not using it and rinse off your skin in the shower before entering the hot tub. Unwashed skin will dirty a hot tub quickly, and we only drain & clean the hot tubs after check-out. If there is sediment in your hot tub upon check-in, it is because your cabin’s water comes from a well.

Vacay Stay Guarantee

The VSG gives your reservation a cancellation policy. Without the VSG you will have a zero cancellation policy and zero reschedule policy. Should you have to cancel your reservation at any point, for any reason, you will lose what you’ve paid up to that point. No exceptions, since the cancellation policy is offered at booking. By not purchasing the VSG, you will accept that you forfeit all monies paid if you have to cancel your reservation.

The Vacay Stay Guarantee allows for:
A 15 day cancellation policy for 1-3 bedroom properties.
A 30 day cancellation policy on 4+ bedroom properties.

For cancellations made outside of the 30 or 15 days, Auntie Belham’s refunds the entire amount of your payments made minus the cost of the VSG (which is only 7% of the nightly rate).

For cancellations made inside of 30 or 15 day time frame, when the cancellation policy has expired, you will be allowed to reschedule your stay in that same property within 6 months, but no monies will be refunded. After the 6 months all monies are forfeited.

Without the Vacay Stay Guarantee, absolutely no refunds.

Absolutely no refunds for early departures for any reason including but not limited to: weather, road conditions or family emergencies. We are not responsible for such occurrences and will therefore not refund money because of them.
