3 Fun Smoky Mountain Attractions to Help You Cool Off This Summer
The summer is a wonderful time to visit the Smoky Mountains, as there are so many fun things to see and do! If you need a break from the summer heat, there are plenty of exciting attractions to help you cool off in the Smokies! Here are just 3 awesome Smoky Mountain attractions where you can cool off this summer:
1. Dollywood’s Splash Country
Make a splash this summer at Dollywood’s Splash Country, one of the fun Smoky Mountain attractions where you can cool off this summer! This huge water park is situated adjacent to the Dollywood theme park and features a variety of water attractions ranging from mild to wild! If you prefer a relaxing afternoon, kick back in your tube along the Downbound Float Trip and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Smoky Mountains. If you are more of a thrill seeker, check out the Raging River Rapids or the Slick Rock Racer! There are even plenty of attractions for younger children to enjoy such as the Little Creek Falls and the Cascades Lagoon!
2. Water Raft Rides at Ober Mountain
Another one of the best destinations on a hot summer afternoon in the Smoky Mountains is Ober Mountain! This amusement complex is situated at the top of a mountain where the summer temperature is more comfortable than downtown Gatlinburg, making it the perfect place to spend the day! Ober Mountain offers all types of great attractions, including a Ski Mountain Coaster, Wildlife Encounter and a trio of water slides that are guaranteed to cool you off! You can pick from the Blue Cyclone Rapids, Shoot-the-Chute or Lightnin’ water rides, or try all 3 of them!
3. Wet Zorbing at Outdoor Gravity Park
Outdoor Gravity Park is a unique adventure park in Pigeon Forge that features wet zorbing! If you are unfamiliar with zorbing, it is a recreational activity where you roll down a hill inside of a large plastic ball called an OGO while being secured in an inner capsule. The Outdoor Gravity Park has taken zorbing one step further by adding a water element to create the H20GO zorb experience! At the top of a 1,000 foot hill, up to 3 riders enter the H20GO that has been filled with 10 gallons of water to make the inside slippery. Once the door is securely closed, the OGO is launched downhill while the riders slide inside for an unforgettable experience!
