While dogs are prohibited on most of the trails within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, one of the exceptions is the Gatlinburg Trail ! This pleasant walking path is a 1.9 mile trail that runs from the Sugarlands Visitor Center to the trailhead on River Road in Gatlinburg. The path is relatively flat and travels through the forest along the west prong of the Little Pigeon River, crossing the river at one point via a pedestrian bridge. While walking along the trail, you can enjoy the beautiful river views as well as the foundations and chimneys of several old homesites.
Treat your dog to a homemade goodie at Holly & Willow’s Pet Barn at 170 Glades Road in Gatlinburg! This cute little pet shop offer all types of beds, pillows, sweaters, treats and even dog wedding apparel! The friendly store owners love dogs as much as you do, so feel free to bring your pet into the store so that they can take their picture, give them a treat and post their picture on the store’s Facebook page! Holly & Willow’s Pet Barn is open on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that the store is closed on Sundays.
